7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 ---
What a week!  Is it just my child, or have any of your kids been extremely moody this week?  My 12-year old has been relatively normal, but the 9 year old..... oh my goodness!!  He woke up this morning in yet another mood.  It took forever to get him out of bed, and at 7:15 he was still wearing his jammies, sitting at the kitchen table staring at his toast.  We needed to leave home by 7:30.  He had basically been stomping in my last nerve since the moment he woke up, so I admit my patience was pretty much gone by that time and I yelled at him to hurry up or he was going to get it.  He began crying and said, "I don't want to diiiieeeeee......"  What?!!?

What the Heck Wednesday

My foot is hurting, so my theme today is shoes.  I've been wearing flats too often when I should be wearing my Danskos or my tennis shoes.  What can I say?  Getting old isn't for sissies!

Let's take a look at what I found.

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 ---
Sorry, I missed another WTHW post. I've spent a great deal of time this week trying to keep a certain 9 year old under control so that his ankles and leg will heal. That's been no easy task, I tell ya.  If I were a blogger worth my salt, I'd have all of these posts already prepared and scheduled (which I haven't figured out how to do yet, eh hemmmm...), but..... apparently, I'm a slacker. So, there you go! It is what it is. I'll try to do better.

Scarf Organizer

I recently saw a scarf organizer made by The Crafty Scientist on a weekly link up that I follow, and thought it was an awesome idea.  I usually keep my scrarves in a basket that I kept in a drawer.  However, due to some furniture swapping we just did to give our youngest more drawer space, I ended up with a smaller, yet beautiful antique dresser from my grandmother's house.  Since it's smaller, I no longer have the room to put my scarves in a drawer.  This scarf organizer was easy, and only required things I already had on-hand.  That's a win/win, in my opinion!

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 ---
I'm so glad this week is coming to a close.

Benchmark exams were this week.  Should I be concerned that both of my boys have commented on how easy their benchmarks were?  Typically when I make a comment like that, I jinx myself.  Does that happen to anyone else?  No?  Just me?  Figures....

Homemade Bleach Gel

One of my very first blogger friends, Debbie, over at Me and My DIY, recently posted about recreating one of those popular bleach gel pens.  I've heard they work well, but I have never bought one because they are quite pricey compared to a bottle of bleach.  Besides with my boys, no small pen would do the trick.  To rid our laundry of stains created by my stain masters, I need massive quantities of stain remover.  MASSIVE!

Debbie's recipe required items that I already had on hand, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try it.  So with her permission, I recreated her recipe to share with you.

What the Heck Wednesday

What the Heck???  I've actually said that several times this past week.  As I mentioned in Friday's quick takes, Gabe and I were sick last week.  I thought he and I both had a stomach virus because we had the same symptoms and no fever.  However, on Wednesday morning when he mentioned his throat had started hurting, a quick trip to his doctor determined that he had an ear infection, a sinus infection and strep.  What the heck??  How could this child be so sick and not complain any more than he did?

7 Quick Takes Friday

--- 1 ---
I hope you all had a blessed Easter.  We had rain off and on all weekend, so it made for a soggy egg hunt.  But, we got to spend a little time with some family we don't get to see very often.

The boys and I thought it would be nice to give our priest some homemade chocolate chip cookies for Easter.  Honestly, I have people ask me to bring these cookies to functions ALL.OF.THE.TIME.  On numerous occasions, I've actually seen people shoveling these cookies in their mouths.  So, I thought they were good.  Now....??  Meh.  Father posted a message saying, "Thanks for the super-awesome cookies....  Was that sea salt on top??!!"
